We have accounts with all suppliers to get the genuine parts required to repair your mobility aid. Like a car it is important to look after your mobility scooter. It is important to have your mobility aid serviced on a regular basis, at least once a year.  Regular servicing can help prevent breakdowns and save you from being stranded whilst out. A service is for a fully working mobility scooter or wheelchair, if there is a fault that needs finding then it is a repair. 

The price for a full service starts at £70 for a small portable mobility scooter, £60 for  pavement and road scooters. We offer a £10 discount if you bring the scooter or wheelchair to us. Powered wheelchairs  £65.  Manual Wheelchair £50 This is a full thorough service and includes a full valet of the scooter and a protective spray applied to plastics and tyres to stop UV damage and a light protective film applied to metal parts.

Based at 43 Western Road, Bexhill, TN40 1DT we cover Bexhill, Eastbourne, Polegate, Hastings, St Leonards on Sea, and surrounding areas. It is a good idea to have your  Scooter or Powerchair serviced annually or more if it’s really heavy usage.  A complete service that we carry out takes about an hour to 90 minutes. 

As we are authorised distributors for all of the leading manufacturers we can access parts quickly to keep you up and running. We prefer to bring your powered mobility aid to the shop to carry out a service as we cannot do a proper battery test in 90 minutes, anyone that tells you they are doing a proper service at your house is misleading you. We have the latest battery technology to test the capacity of your batteries, this can take several hours and to test the charger takes at least 8 hours




We check the motor and brushes. Motor brushes are a key component on the scooter, if they are worn or clogged up it will affect the running of it.

The transaxle/Gearbox is then checked to see if there are any signs of leaking oil, noise and excessive wear.

The wiring is checked to make sure there is no damage or corrosion.

The wheels are removed to clear out any debris that may have accumulated. It amazing the amount of hair etc that can build up behind the wheels! We also check the condition of the rims

The Frame is checked for any corrosion. We then apply a wax oil to the metal parts to prevent corrosion, this is a clear waxy solution that they use on cars.

We check all the nuts and bolts are tight and secure.

All steering rods and shock absorbers are checked to make sure they are working correctly and then lubricated where necessary. I have seen that some companies spray white grease all over the steering rods and suspension, this is rarely needed as most have nylon bushes that need no grease. All the grease does is collect dirt and grit causing it to get into the linkage causing more wear! If possible take a look at your scooter or Powerchair and see if it’s covered in white grease, if it is then it’s possibly attracting dirt and grit .

Wheel alignment is checked.

Tyres, tread depth and tyre pressures on pneumatic tyres are all checked for condition and the correct pressure. Also check the bolts are tight on the rims.

Batteries are tested to check their capacity. My portable machine will give me a good indication of your battery health and I also have another machine that will carry out a full discharge test. A full discharge test involves fully charging and then discharging the batteries and takes several hours so I need to take the batteries away to do it, I will leave you a set to use whilst I am testing them.  We only fit the best quality products that will last, as the lifeblood of your machine it is important to fit the right products.

Batteries are one of the most important parts of your scooter so it is important you look after them and fit good quality batteries such as MK


Horn, lights and indicators where fitted are all checked to make sure they are functioning properly.

The seat and fittings are checked and greased where applicable.

This is an overview and each item is different so there may be more or less on certain items. Whilst carrying out the above we will be looking to see if everything is as it should be.


It is important that the people you trust to work on your mobility aid are qualified to do it. I have been trained on Mobility Scooters and Power Chairs by KYMCO and Electric Mobility who manufacture the Rascal and Lightway range and many others.

I have been trained on patient lifting equipment by Prism Healthcare. I am also able to service and repair pressure care equipment, plinths etc. Having worked for Drive Devilbiss for many years as a manager I have lots of experience in this industry
